Generally we stay away from the opinions of sponsored paddlers due to bias.

Kayak

  • Alex Barham: bigger guy, very willing to criticize manufacturers.
  • Wade Harrison: goes a bit light on the criticism, you have to listen hard for the negatives on gear, but very prolific. Wade typically prefers medium boats.
  • Matt Wallin: a smaller paddler, usually paddles small boats.

Whitewater Retailers

Unfortunately, none of these retailers are located on the island.

Note that not all vendors will ship kayaks long-distance.

Watersports Retailers

For vendors that sell paddling gear, but not oriented towards whitewater (i.e. no boats or paddles). All of these retailers are located on the island, however.
