About Us

The South Island Whitewater Club (SIW, pronounced: sue) launched in 2021, with the aim of building recreational Whitewater paddling club that operates primarily in Southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Our vision is to bring paddlers into the sport in a safe fashion and provide a means of progressing from a raw beginner on flatwater to an intermediate paddler who can navigate grade 3 rivers and be self-sufficient. We want our courses and activities to be cost-effective but also balanced in terms of instructional supply and demand. And of course, we have to have fun.

All of our directors believe passionately in the sport of whitewater and want to bring some of the benefits of a club community to the island.
